History Made....

Good job America.....Great Job God.....Blessings to John McCain and Blessings to our new President Elect-Barak Obama.....We are truly blessed to have witnessed this moment. For all of the history that we hear of African Americans and minorities having been slaves, this is truly a beautiful moment in all of our lives.....Victory....Victory for Life.....Victory for Love.....Although I can't say that I voted for Obama, I am overwhelmingly proud of this achievement as an African American man, as a father, as an uncle, as a son, a brother and an American. While I have thought from the onset that Barak was clearly the best candidate, I strongly disagree with his views on abortion and gay marriage.....I don't dislike those who choose to live an alternative lifestyle.....I have close friends that are gay...even family....However, in maturing as an adult and a Christian, I realize that I can't believe part of the Bible and not all of it. The fact is, these things are abominations according to the word of God.

But even with my views and my beliefs, I couldn't help but feel overwhelming pride and emotion as Barak, Michelle and his two beautiful daughters graced the stage with Joe Baiden and his family, including is mother. The regal music playing in the background was a perfect fit for the moment. These are the moments that are etched into souls forever.

I pray that we all benefit from change, and progress. God Bless this nation and God Bless it leadership. I pray that the country remains grounded and held together by the Christian principles and values on which beautiful place was established.

World...keep your heads up. Hold each other up high....Live it up baby.....Times have changed....Let's get if people...We ready......

Playing Catch Up.....

Okay, so, I get this email from a friend today congratulating me and my family on our new edition. Thanks..... :) And this friend who shall remain nameless, Krystlita, OOPS (LOL), reminds me that I have not been blogging for quite some time now. I really do apologize. I am on leave currently so I can afford to play catch up a little bit. But I will give you a quick rundown and there will be more to follow. Alright, my last entry was January 13th. I started my new job on the 15th and hit the ground running. Sometimes I work 20 hour days. (Yeah Sucks!!!) But I still manage to maintain my illustrious role as a husband and father. Now here is where things get tricky. I am also enrolled in the University of Maryland as well as John Jay college of Criminal Justice. I have no idea why, I really dislike criminal justice. But it's free so why not. LOL. And for those who have not heard the news, my wife and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on June 9th. Ironically, we welcomed our new daughter, Ayanna, the very same day. These are only a few things that have taken place over the past 6 months. More will follow so stay tuned for the continuation of this wild and exciting saga. LOL

Goodbye Colorado!!!!

Alright.....No more Colorado...I haven't posted any updates on the move to New York due to us getting ready to leave. I was a big hurry but we finally got it done. After 3 weeks of packing and preparation and a 27 hour drive, we finally made it to New York. I must tell you, the drive was pretty smooth until we hit the New Jersey Pike. For one, there are tolls as high as 20 dollars. And there are several of them. The scenery coming in was pretty nice, but the driving is horrible. Tonight is our first night here so I can't say how I feel about it yet. But this city is packed. Even the parked cars take up most of the street. Crazy....Driving here in the snow and rain through the last 3 states didn't help. But so far we've only seen a portion of Brooklyn (where we will be staying); I haven't been to my new office yet. My location was changed from what was originally City Hall. I will now be working directly across the street from Central Park. Nice right?! And I must admit that the view from our new home is nice. We literally live under the famed Brooklyn Bridge, and have a nice view of the Bay. I will post pics within the next few days. Well...I think it is bedtime....For the next two days, my wife and I will be getting lost in the city trying to learn our way around. Oh yeah by the way, I thought that because I was from Dallas, they wouldn't call me country. Yeah right....Dallas folks are country to New Yorkers. And once you visit here, you will learn and appreciate the true meaning of Southern Hospitality....Till Next time...

Well Lookie Here...Dallas Baby!!!

Home Sweet Home....
